As announced earlier today, the Winterhawks will open up the 2009-10 home schedule on Saturday, September 26 against the Seattle Thunderbirds. As of now the venue is TBA, as we’re awaiting final word on the Rose Garden’s availability on that date.

Also in the release was the team’s complete preseason schedule, highlighted by the preseason opener at home against Seattle on Saturday, August 29. Hard to believe we’re a mere two months away from some August hockey…

And if you were looking for something to do over Labor Day weekend, the Hawks will be up in Everett for three games, going up against Spokane, Prince George and the Silvertips, who will now be led by former NHL head coach Craig Hartsburg.

The preseason schedule concludes with back-to-back games in Tri-Cities on Sept. 11 and 12 agasint the Americans and Lethbridge.

The Winterhawks’ complete regular season schedule will be announced in early August, but swift fans can currently find out a few of the tentative home dates before then…

And before I forget, happy New Pete Yorn Album Day.
