A few notes on a Monday afternoon…

-As you may have seen on the main page of, the St. Louis Blues have posted the audio of an interview with their director of amateur scouting, Jarmo Kekalainan, where he talks about Brett Ponich and why they liked him.

In addition, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has some quotes from Ponich in a draft day recap story available here, and the story from Sunday’s Oregonian can be found right here.

-If you find yourself with roughly 20 hours to kill tomorrow, you can follow the CHL Import Draft live online.

It gets underway at 6 a.m. Pacific time, and with the fifth overall pick, Portland should be making their first selection at 7 a.m. The Winterhawks’ second round pick is scheduled to be made at 5:10 p.m. tomorrow. The draft continues up until 2:20 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Check after each of Portland’s selections for stats and info about each player the team selects.

FYI – Tayler received a call immediately after the entry draft from the Columbus Blue Jackets. They invited him to their prospect camp this week (June 29-July 3) so he flew down there Sunday.
