Another two preseason games, another two wins…Here’s what’s happening with the Hawks these days:

-As far as personnel, Spencer Bennett (Calgary), Tayler Jordan (Columbus) and Luke Walker (NY Rangers) are all back with the Winterhawks after attending NHL prospects camps, while Brett Ponich (St. Louis), Kurtis Mucha (Edmonton) and Travis Ehrhardt (Detroit) are still with their NHL teams.

-On the injury front, Daniel Johnston (strained neck) and Seth Swenson (mono) didn’t suit up for the Winterhawks over the weekend. We’ll keep you posted on their situations throughout the week as we close in on the season opener in Seattle on Saturday night. They join Ty Rattie (wrist), Kyle Madsen (knee) and Adam Basford (ankle) on the Hawks’ injured list.

-On another roster front, forward Jason Grecica has been assigned to the Surrey Eagles of the BCHL for a rehab stint as he continues his comeback from the serious knee injury that cost him all of last season.

-Of the ice, the team’s college-age players took part in a great community project today, helping clean up the Kenton neighborhood rose garden. Keep an eye on the Fox 12 and KGW newscasts tonight for footage, while the Oregonian had a photographer out, which means we’ll hopefully see something in tomorrow’s edition.
