The Hawks’ Nest

Coverage of Saturday’s game

Myself and a number of other Winterhawks employees will be taking a bus up to Kent on Saturday to take in the Winterhawks’ season opener against the Thunderbirds. If you can’t make it to Kent, don’t worry, the game will be on the radio. Before the end of the week we’ll be announcing our radio deal for the 2009-10 season, and you’ll be able to hear the Seattle season opener and the 71 other contests this season.

Anyway, back to the Seattle game…Assuming wireless internet in the ShoWare Center allows, we’re going to be live-blogging the game on winterhawks.com. We’re going to experiment with some live-blogging software, and if it works, it’ll be a lot of fun since fans will be able to submit questions and comments (moderated, of course). Maybe we can even get some Seattle fans to take part and get some spirited debate going (again, moderated). If it doesn’t work, check out our Twitter feed for live updates.

I have to say, I’m excited about the prospect of being the guy at the hockey game typing away on his laptop. Who doesn’t love that guy?

So check out winterhawks.com or our Twitter feed Saturday night to get in on the fun. What else are you going to do, watch college football?

People will just think you’re scout if you’re sitting there with your laptop.
