A couple of items to add after the previous post:

-After Wenatchee’s announcement last night, we announced the signing of Mac Carruth a few minutes ago. By joining the Hawks, Carruth will forego a scholarship with Minnesota-Duluth of the NCAA. Mike Johnston and the rest of the front office have been enormously successful with their recruiting, as Carruth joins Spencer Bennett (Alaska Anchorage) and Ryan Johansen (Northeastern) as players who had NCAA scholarship offers but decided to join the Winterhawks instead. In addition, Seth Swenson passed on the U.S. National Team Development Program, while Taylor Aronson was a first round draft pick of the USHL.

-Brett Ponich taped an interview with 1080 The Fan yesterday, that is available now on their website, and will likely be aired tomorrow. In addition, the Tribune caught up with Mike Johnston and recapped the first part of the season.

-Lastly, the Turkey Shoot is Saturday after the game against Kelowna. All women 18 and over will be able to hit the ice after the game to take a shot to win a free turkey from Fred Meyer. Make sure you get your tickets today.
