Super Chuck-A-Puck

Tonight is the first-ever Super Chuck-A-Puck. What’s a Super Chuck-A-Puck, you ask? It’s Chuck-A-Puck on steroids. It’s the greatest thing since Subway’s chocolate chip cookies.

Pucks will be $5 instead of the usual $1, but here’s the payoff: $1,000. The fan who lands their puck closest to the target on the ice is going home with a grand.

As if that weren’t enough reason to come out tonight, there’s also this: the Hawks will be looking to take down Everett, who’ve won 10 in a row and leapfrogged Portland in the standings and are now three points ahead of the Hawks. The Tips haven’t lost in 2010 yet, as their last defeat was New Year’s Eve against Saskatoon. The last time Everett lost, Pete Carroll was still at USC and Conan O’Brien was still gainfully employed. Remember October when Everett had that bizarre 10-day layoff? I said at the time it might be tough for them to make up the games in hand as their schedule would be compressed to make up for the downtime.

So much for that theory.

Anyway, it promises to be a great game, and you could come home with $1,000. If you can’t make it, the game will be shown live on FSN Northwest starting at 7:30.

Also, here are a few Winterhawks-related links for you:

-Kerry Eggers has a lengthy column over at the Tribune’s site looking at the team both on and off the ice. has a feature on Nino Niederreiter in the wake of his appearance at the CHL Prospects Game.

-Lastly, Chris Francis taped an interview with 1080 The Fan yesterday, and that can be heard right here.
